Building upon a recent appreciation for Eskayel, my eyes are still on all things rorschach.
The imagery itself isn’t new. It is taken from a 100 year old personality test by scientist of the name, Rorschach. You’ve probably conjured up an image much like mine, of silky tufted fainting sofas and old mustached men holding up ink blot cards for young ladies of leisure.
Andy Warhol dug into it a bit in the 60s as seen above in metallic gold, and over the past few years it is becoming more and more prevalent in home decor.
We think its especially appealing when presented with inky hues. The watercolor effect seen below is perfect.
Wallpaper by Eskayel
Sarah and I like to talk about the many uber hip applications of Eskayel’s wallpaper line that we’ve seen. From its use in a maximalist modern eclectic home, to it’s application in a classically Southern home, where the powder room is allowed to pack a bit more graphic punch without breaking from a more muted, typically traditional decor.
It looks fresh and modern anywhere it’s used.

Like the artwork used in this recent room update, it just smacked of rorschach. Our feeling is that these bold bright hues really amp up the trend, taking your art display to the next level.
Bunglo, by Shay Spaniola is an another brand we love. I feel as if I’ve been along for the ride, of the rise from the day that our friend Bregan gave us the heads up on this local Etsy seller she admired, on through the moments that her lines were snatched up by ABC Carpet & Home and major retailers like Bloomingdales & Nordstrom. Pretty awesome.
And finally, this tile. OMG. Now, tilling to this effect requires a bit more commitment than simply tossing the new design via a pillow among the mix on your sofa, but these rorschach inspired ceramics by Cle Tile are hot to death as a bathroom backsplash.
So that’s it. We’re positively inspired and in fact, we’re cooking up a little something of our own for SHOP TEOT. Holler at us and let us know if you’re into it, or over it.Thanks for playing,
