You can purchase this Dhurrie Suzani Rug at your local World Market store right now for $79. It’s on sale from $110.
I did. I also purchased an old pedestal table base for $20 at the Long View thrift store, and paired it with a 60 inch round table top that my dad had in storage. Its another great trash score from one of the furniture companies here in town – brand new boxed. Here they are together (Rug and Table). I’m not sure that they will actually stay together – cause the round table kinda wanted to be with a round rug. But they are gonna hang out a little while longer and see if they can work toward a love connection.
The table top and base need a match up refinish job (I have a desire to paint all of my wooden furniture a glossy solid). I suppose that’s what the future holds. It also needs the right chairs (help! what chairs would you put with a big round pedestal table?)
For now I’m just getting a feel for it in my space, and I think its actually too large. Bummer. I guess I’ll have to move into a new house……
Thanks for playing,
here’s a thought:
Wow, your blog is really awesome… I wish the beforeandafterblog.com could keep up to par.
Haha. . nice plug Jennifer.
Your blog is pretty awesome. I can’t believe the progress you’ve made on your place since you first started the beforeandafterblog.com.
You really need someone to get on a blog design for you.. What’s up with that? OH, MY BAD…. :(
OK, I was pleasantly surprised to see that red chest in there. Chairs-theres no doubt in my mind that IKEA doesn’t have you fixed up here. I like the Gilbert chair or the scoop back chair from West Elm. Let’s talk about the shelves.
Shelves are messy. Whatev. You can help me out with that.
I agree that I need a modern chair, but I took a look at the suggestions and they might be too small. I’m scared the table would just swallow them whole and it’ll look funny.
What about arm rests??
next time you are at my house sit in the red metal Pauchard chair sitting in the basement. There is no question that I love these chairs to pieces.
Look at Jessica Helgerson’s portfolio http://www.jhinteriordesign.com/welcome.html, look at her house in Portland, you’ll see what I’m talking about.
BAM!!
Check out that blog design now beforeandafterblog.com
:)
I always respect a good trash score.
I would never in a million years have thought of the metal chairs, but it works.
