Starry eyed

Sometimes when I’m looking at the shingled homes of the Hamptons or a white beach cottage in the low country, I slowly realize that my mouth is usually agape and I’m a little starry eyed.

I don’t really want to live at the coast but I looovve to look at beachy, cottage design.

I’ve got my fingers crossed that one day my friend Amanda and her husband will stop this renting business and build a house on the South Carolina coast. I’m hoping she will let me help her plan and decorate. Amanda I know you’re reading, please say yes. You have my solemn oath to nail it—within the confines of your budget of course.

I saw this home featured on the always lovely House of Turquoise. While most of the interior design is not my cup of tea, the exterior color scheme is really great, not neccessarily innovative but right up Amanda’s alley. Subtle gray stain, aqua blue front door and white trim…likey.

Does this make you want to go to the beach or what?

  • You hit the nail on the head with that beauty. I literally have butterflies looking at that color scheme. That. is. all. me. Hello turquoise door – where have you been all my life? We’re scoping out plots of land as I type, my friend. Your dream might just become a reality sometime in the near future :)

  • I love this house, too! I want that kitchen! Too bad it’s as big as my whole house. Boo.

  • I really liked this one too, but a little on the large size for me… I wouldn’t want to have to clean that place!! The color scheme though, especially the blue with the grey is a favorite of mine. I like how they painted the garage door too.
