Rock Out

8 Jul

I’m wondering if the Tullsta armchair from IKEA could be converted in to a rocking chair for a nursery?

Do you think a carpenter/reupholsterer/wood worker could put rockers on the chair?

$149 for the chair, $50 for the slipcover, $____ for the transformation? I love those Serena & Lily gliders as much as the next gal but this is a much more affordable option.

Of course you can! In FACT, that’s such a good idea, I plan to steal it.

Hahaha…and those colors? When I have another baby, they will be surrounded in them.

ya.. i like that idea too Sarah.
maybe one day when we are grown ups and we have a store, maybe we could get Chris to make that rocky chair for us… maybe?

That is a really fantastic idea! I may just have to steal the idea too when my time comes. :)

I looked into doing this when I was putting together Evan’s nursery. I found a tutorial online where a dude took rocker legs off an old porch rocker and screwed them to the bottom of an upholstered chair. He had to reinforce them a bit to account for the extra weight but it turned out fantastic.

Totally seems like it would work. What a good idea.
