With his book Jones Beach, Joseph Szabo may have been succcessful in making icons out of a unique and unlikely group.
Joseph Szabo snapped photographs at Jones Beach for three decades capturing a diverse group of tourists.

Since I grew up nearby I feel obligated to mention that Jones Beach is Long Island, NY. It is *not* the Jersey shore. (They are actually a few hours driving distance from each other) For those who know the area it is a pretty big distinction.
Leah-Thanks! correction has been made, I think after seeing some of the images in the book I made certain assumptions and perhaps I should be more aware of North Atlantic geography.
