Sarah hosted a Global Goods Happy Hour on Friday, and I just wanted to thank y’all big time from way over here. It was a success and a good time was had by all. We offered 15% off all global textiles, 25% off if you brought a friend. We saw a lot of new faces and enjoyed a few cocktails together!
I don’t know about y’all, but when Fall comes around, it’s like its just one thing after the other. I couldn’t even think about Thanksgiving until Halloween handmade costumes were behind us, and likewise, Christmas will get no prep until after the last of the cold leftover Turkey has been consumed this weekend.
In retail, as far as inventory prep and marketing strategy, I’m not really afforded the luxury of putting the planning off, but I’ve been procrastinating as much as possible, believe me.

While we were swapping thoughts on rooms that showcase global textiles in action, Sarah reminded me of this Caroline Irving shoot from some time ago. Coincidentally, it then popped up in my face via this MyDomaine roundup about the forthcoming “Haute Bohemian” book. The article inquired/predicted that 2018 might see traditional decor stealing a little of the spotlight back from jugalow boho-ism and SoCal/Scandi minimalism. Sarah and I are over here getting a little whiplash from nodding our heads so hard in agreement. In our little tiny realm, we call this style rad trad and Sarah is especially all about it.
I have been scouring the internets for the perfect indian block print with an indigo base and red accents, and hey looky – Sarah had already found it and ordered it. So we will be seeing more of this soon. Love it.
I got something of a green light to rework the kitchen in our home that we have now lived in for over 2 years. And so I’m collecting inspiration and salivating over French ranges and waffling between various combinations of black, white and wood materials. It’s a long and narrow room so layout is really the foremost problem to consider. Fun times ahead, we’ll see if and when this project takes shape.
Okay, here is your idea for adding a little personalization to your traditional space. Go ahead and let your 5 year old have at the back of your chippendale cabriole with a set of Sharpies. We are into it!
Sarah has been eyeing this dresser since she spotted one at the local antiques store up in the Appalachian Mtns where her family vacations. She’s thinking she needs a project to add to her full plate.
The upholstered headboard game is strong here.
We replaced our street side fence at the beginning of this year and the front still needs some landscaping attention. These colorful drought tolerant options are a fun idea, though I think we need something a bit more narrow to save room for our daily pedestrian passersby.
