My husband and I are finally in agreement that it might be time for some new bedding. That took a while…
While I love my linen duvet & shams from West Elm that I’ve had for about 6 years (gets softer with every wash), I don’t love the hotel style sheet sets that have seen better days.
I like to keep beds simple–white and neutral hues with some texture for interest is the way to go in my opinion. Keeping it simple also allows for more layering, so you can layer on the trends as they change without doing an overhaul of the whole bed.
What do I really want? I’d have to say Matteo, so divine and it feels like its been passed down for generations. Matteo is having a 15% off sale + free shipping but it still doesn’t offer a whole lot of relief to the wallet. I like to drool over the Matteo bedding at a local store called Cottage Chic, Aberdeen NC holla!
Hammock duvet, $545
The key elements are a new lightweight blanket for the spring/summer, queen shams and two new sheet sets. The extras are an accent pillow or a colorful throw/blanket folded at the end of the bed.
I’ve rounded up a lot of choices, I plan to piece something together from this field.
Carriage blanket, Matteo
Valerie matelasse coverlet, PB
 Marion matelasse organic coverlet, PB
Ticking stripe quilt, Toast
Thira striped bedlinen, Toast
Arletty bedlinen, Toast
Gabi throw, Toast
Chunky tassel throw, West Elm
Breton stripe throw, Lands End
Stripe sheets, West Elm
Stripe edge sheets, West Elm
maybe I should polish it all off with this,
Ikat bolster, Toast
I’m going to pair some of this stuff up and see what the best combination is, do you have any favorites? That carriage blanket from Matteo is pretty cozy and versatile and not too out of sight price-wise.Thanks for playing,
I just found your blog while googling something. I love it! Wish I had found you sooner. I couldn’t agree more about white/neutral bedding with layers on top. Such a classic look.
I’ll be reading from now on!
