Seems a lot of you really got into the cure for the common Ranch post that we pulled together a few weeks ago.
You know, Sarah and I sit back and dream about this type of renovation routinely.
My last house, was a mix of Ranch and Cottage.
Throughout the house hunt, I sought something similar and was happy to find it in our current home. The thing about ranch homes that really intrigues me, is how much potential they can have for a modern renovation. It would have taken living in Southern California for me to understand it.
I grew up in a ranch home that has a layout almost identical to the home that I live in now.
During our house hunt, we were stuck between finding great bones at the low low end of our budget, one that we could work with to easily modernize to suit our style, or selecting something that had already been flipped. But as we toured those type of homes, I had a REALLY hard time wanting to pay up someone else’s choices. (Even if they weren’t bad ones, which let’s face it, most of them were.)
