So many of our friends and follows are “plantlady” obsessed and we totally know why. The benefits of bringing plants into the home are countless.
They clean your air eliminating harmful toxins, they add sculptural interest, they are known to enhance your mood, they help you sleep better, and best of all they give you an excuse to buy pretty planters for display!
The Modern Planter is the love labor of our very own Courtney Eury, Sarah’s sister-in-law.
Sarah’s mother is a green-thumb from way back. Sarah spent her childhood growing up in the greenhouses that her mother tended. A plant wholesaler, her mom was her own boss babe for decades.
At The Estate of Things, Sarah and I have often talked ourselves down from the lofty fantasy of growing into a full blown garden shop, complete with greenhouse in a back alley. It has been a dreamy goal since day one.
Last Spring we finally dipped our toes in and brought a boatload of plants into the shop for sale, putting us on the map as a local resource for houseplants. It was a successful experiment and one that we wanted to build upon for the future!
So, this Spring, we are SO THRILLED to be bringing in an entire vendor display with Courtney’s new labor of love, The Modern Planter.
No doubt Courtney has been bitten by the same bug that Sarah and her mother have. Rattling off exotic tropical plant names as we zipped down neighborhood streets on a visit to LA from NC was one of my favorite days that I have ever spent with Sarah’s mom!
