I often take the opportunity to visit the sites of designers who have featured items on One Kings Lane. It’s an introduction to some designers who I might not have normally discovered.Â
Â
Holly Carter joins that group of designers this week who have curated shops on OKL. Although Holly is from Bucks County, Pennsylvania she is now based in Southern Pines, North Carolina–my hometown. I noticed her new shop pop up in our little downtown area on Broad Street.
Â
In addition to being a seasoned interior designer and remodeler, Holly is also a champion equestrian. The equestrian influence shows in her design and in her OKL shop. Her love of horses I’m guessing is what may have brought her to Southern Pines, there is a huge equestrian community here.
Â
Although the portfolio on Holly’s site is not quite complete yet, I noticed that one of her recent projects listed is The Sly Fox, which is a relatively new pub that also happens to be my husband’s favorite restaurant. I always thought that the Fox’s interior appeared to have been guided by a designer, now I know…
And I’m not entirely sure but I think Holly may have looked at the Indiana Project when she was house hunting. I remember our real estate agent mentioning someone from PA who had design or remodeling experience touring the house. I don’t think the house suited her but the connection is still fun. Wonder what she thought of it, maybe I’ll just have to ask.
Holly Carter’s sale ends at OKLÂ on Saturday 2/19.Thanks for playing,
