Hi! I just dropped by to say that I was wondering if you would take a look at this website and let me know what you think!? I stumbled upon it in Time Magazine’s Style & Design Supplement focusing on Green Design. I think that the Ecommerce General Store is a neat concept. My mind did a little overtime though, wondering if buying a bottle of Begley’s Best Household Cleaner and having it shipped from California to North Carolina is really my greenest option? I do like to think about Fair Trade though!
Thanks for playing,
Is the Ed Begley cleaner a “fair trade” item? It’s a “green” item and this could be
where the ambivalence lies. Your greenest option is probably in your cupboard
already….baking soda, vinegar, washing soda, liquid soap or detergent, tea tree
oil and spray bottles.
It’s a great question and I can’t wait to read lots of other answers and options.
Wow, that incense burner that’s made out of an old beer bottle is really a steal at $90.
That’s my two cents.
Haha.
That’s funny Candy!
See, I thought maybe… F this store.
Anybody else?
I clicked on the agave body scrubber and learned about “dry brushing” your body… I was almost ok with it until the part about starting at your fingers and brushing towards your heart…
Laura-seriously I couldn’t be more with you…brushing towards your heart….I’m gonna have to cut the solar panels and organically fertilized roses right here and say no thanks.
Sunsetgurl- I was just reading about the baking soda, water, white vinegar paste as a carpet cleaner. I think I’m gonna do it this weekend. Oh and I saw the host do it on Sell This House.
Perhaps this store is testament to why ‘it takes green to go green” and I’m fundamentally opposed. I think its great that being eco-friendly is totally a trend, In mass we need that kind of shallow motivation for change… but this is borderline maddening.
SunsetGurl is totally on point. If it saves you green, its probably greener. Let’s Recycle. Consumerism – even if its “green” is still consumerism.
Now, I’m gonna go back to browsing the Internet for lusty products that I wish I owned. haha.
