Alia from Sweetshorn Vintage writes about her latest object of affection, the chandelier…
I bought a vintage red glass chandelier similar to this one at a thrift store last summer.
Due to the fact that I don’t have a boudoir-esque dressing room in my house it has been stashed in a guest room until we buy a place where it can be hung more permanently. I’ve been shopping around to have it rewired and found it will cost $200.
That doesn’t seem like much if you have a $1000 piece but mine was only $40. Plus, I found the chandelier pictured above for only $179 at Home Depot that is ready to hang.
So I have major chandelier envy. It seemed like a passing trend having been printed on everything from dish towels to wall decals, but I’ve always wanted one in my home.
This jade green beauty from Tavern on the Green being auctioned off this month now that the legendary NYC restaurant has closed its doors. It is amazing!
This cloud chandelier by design house Fusion Z is so stunning I can’t imagine having a room worthy of its opulence.
My tacky side (about 94% of me) wants this disco ball by Front Design (found via Curbly).
This capiz shell lotus lamp by Graham and Green is so soft it would be amazing in my bedroom.
and what is Sarah’s pick for a game changing chandelier…the arctic pear available at Ochre.
Thanks for playing,
All very cool.
I also have a needing-to-be wired chandelier in the closet. I should just hang it, even if it doesn’t light up.
