I’ve been on the receiving end of some teasing and criticism since I decided to paint most of Bungalow 404 various shades of white. No one can understand it, not even my hubby, in fact he is one of the most confused.
But what he and others might be missing is that the eaves with the help of some 50 year old trees, shield the entire living area from the sun. The living area in Bungalow 404 was not the place to go bold because there was a risk of a cavernous feeling rather than cozy. It needed to be brightened artificially, first with paint and later with lighting.Â

And after going through all of my sources of inspiration for the kitchen, patterns were emerging, one of those was white walls. It’s clean and gives you color freedom every where else. So in order to defend my position on white walls, we’ll do a quick visual study of white interiors.
Apartment Therapy ran a great post on The Best Off Whites, see that here.

As it turns out, the sources of inspiration for white interiors is seemingly endless. Not a surprise. Thinking of going white…no caution needed.

 Thanks for playing,
I’ve always just relied on my wife to light up a room. No color scheme needed…and no 50 year old trees can compete.
Boring rooms to match your boring life.
So James-I take it you’re more of a color person?
