Happy-Mothers-Day-from-The-Estate-of-Things

We hope that Mother’s Day means that something special is going down for you and your crew.

I’m 3000 miles away from my mama. Last night I dreamt that I ran up to her car as she was pulling away from a visit and I blasted an instagram quote into her face, “If you weren’t my mom, I’d choose you as my friend.” Dreams are weird, but that little quote did resonate with me, and I would be friends with my mama. She’s the coolest, funniest, most sage & strongest woman in all the land. Thanks for letting me be a weirdo, Mom.

Last weeek on the internetz:

Sarah read through this DIY roman shades project and a lot more of this blog and she liked what she saw.

Betsy fell in love with Elliot Smith all over again, but this time re-imagined by some other musical favs, Seth Avett and Jessica Lea Mayfield.

Also in music related news. Sarah is all over the Alabama Shakes. She believes that it’s a great soundtrack to the bi-coastal design sensibility that she and Betsy share, it’s the music of the Southland (and that goes for both the East and the West coasts.)

It’s always nice to find a lady to look up to. Here’s one interview with an admirable woman, Sara Rotman, Chief Creative Officer for MODco, which is short for My Own Damn Company!

We haven’t been through all of the One Room Challenge reveals yet, but this before/after post of Jenna Sue’s bathroom redo was sweet. I especially loved the use of clapboard and patterned tile.

Hey, thanks for being here! You may want to follow us on Facebook or Twitter for a routine glimpse at the articles and internetz that inspire us in real time.

We’ve added a few new items to the ETSY Shop. Peep ’em here.
