We have been hanging sheetrock over the last two weeks. What would normally take about a week, stretched to two weeks because of Hurricane Florence. The hurricane brought down power lines in this particular neighborhood, one of the lines was draped across the driveway for a couple of days.

We’ve opened up the loft space a little more in the weeks since demo. We opened it up further to the left and we have plans for a modern DIY railing.

We met a new floor installer named Ray and he grew up here right down the street from the a-frame and said that in those days, a family raised four children in the house. Four kids in the a-frame is both surprising and pretty cool.

As we near the finish and trim stage of the project, there’s been a lot of pouring over images of stair railing. I got a quote for cable railing but it
