Antiques in Charlotte, The Sleepy Poet

My friend Erika and I went over to the Sleepy Poet Antiques Mall on South Blvd before the Panthers game. Thanks Erika for wandering around through 55,000 square feet of antiques, you were very gracious! And thanks again to Sarah at Matters of Style for recommending this place.

Wow, what a place The Sleepy Poet is! It is an absolute must visit. Don’t be surprised if you go and you’re able to furnish an entire room or check many things off of that list of needed furniture.  In addition to a plethera of antiques and vintage furnishings, there is also a big selection of vintage clothing, fabric, jewelry and vinyl.

I snapped some photos with my Iphone so they aren’t the greatest but you’ll get the idea.

this ceramic horse was a fun accessory and beautiful color of celadon green

A Parsons-style walnut dining table, love it for a modern space or mixed with a more traditional chair

Note to self, buy children’s desk at West Jefferson antiques mall and paint inside blue for DC’s room

Alabaster horse bookends, why didn’t I buy these and the box they are sitting on?

a pair of great brass lamps with a timeless shape and great scale

an interesting accessory maybe for a bookshelf in a little girl’s room or it could hold your pens/pencils on a desk

$24 bucks a piece, there was a coordinating pair for over the twin beds MOM!

I bought DC a big girl bed! Great Jenny Lind style headboard and footboard with side rails for $150. Sold, now I need to enamel it white and Dan says we have to do it. I wanted to send it to the furniture refinisher, Oy!

I cannot wait to go back!
