Valentine’s Day

I had a beautiful and completely fun Valentine’s Day yesterday. How was yours!?

My friend Hotdog the Rapper and I hit the road for Palm Desert early afternoon, to scope out a location to host the party that our Audio Muffin bloggy friends are putting on during Coachella.

After a day of sweat and a beautiful sunset in the February desert, we decided to call up the Citron at the Viceroy in Palm Springs to see if we could get in for dinner. No luck being that our plan was spontaneously conceived on Valentine’s day, but we decided we should get dressed up and go check it out anyway. Target had a dress and a tie so we hit the 111 towards Palm Springs.

We wandered around in the dark and oohed and ahhed over the lobby, the light fixtures, the Kelly Wearstler ambiance, and the little villas surrounding the pools and grounds (okay I oohed and ahhed, Hotdog just indulged my whimsy). The staff was more than friendly, and invited us in for a drink at the Citron bar, encouraged us to poke around, and even took our picture. Hotdog pointed out that this is the difference between a 5 star hotel and a 5 diamond hotel. I can’t wait to go back to the Viceroy during the daytime.
