The Final Approach

the estate of things chooses west end wreaths

Fasier firs prepared for delivery in 2008 at West End Wreaths in Ashe County, NC.

West End is one of the many places in the NC mountains where you can venture on to the lot to “choose-n-cut”, its the preferred place for our family.

Christmas is getting close, are you ready? Are you tired of people asking you if you’re ready in order to make small talk?

Yes! My mother can’t believe I didn’t put up a tree and won’t let it go. My house is tiny and we just got Rock Band. The band won out over a tree.

I am BIG on planning ahead, and being done with Christmas shopping right around Thanksgiving ( I might have a few gifts to get my kids ( like that Wii game that just came out etc), but the other 16 people I have to buy for are done.) We spend the weekend after Thanksgiving cutting down our Christmas tree, and by the week after Thanksgiving the house is decorated, the stocking hung, the lights are up outside, the tree is decorated, and gifts are all wrapped no later then Dec. 8th. Then we start baking, and watching Christmas movies without any stress of getting out in the traffic.

I have yet to even see Christmas spirit. I’ve been to some holiday parties and I got a whiff of Evergreen walking by a tree lot on Wilshire Blvd the other day…. but its just been so busy.
I can’t wait to touchdown in Charlotte on Christmas Eve morning and hurry to a home filled the smells and sounds of the holiday!!
But I do hear ya on the Rockband Alia.. haha!

Hope you all have a happy one!
