Miles Redd’s Lacquered Walls

9 Jul

Oh Yeah, I have a blog. I almost forgot today b/c I’ve been wallowing in the misery of my day job. So, here’s a quick note on inspiration of late.

Did you guys love this past issue of House Beautiful? For me, July 09 was jam packed full of fun stuff to pour over as I sailed through the skies these past weeks. I won’t be surprised if I don’t visit it a few more times. I’m not as much of a magazine nut as some folks, really just had an affinity for Domino. But alas, those days are over.

There were so many rooms that I loved, and so many ideas that I will file away for future inspiration. But today I just want to think about these High Gloss Lacquered Walls in the Miles Redd Design. They are so rich. I want to swim in this room. I liked the parallel to Renaissance Paintings. I think that a good balance of varying textures has been a really important aspect of decor in regards to putting rooms together in my home. Having a glossy wall would really take things to a entirely different level. Though this is terribly unrealistic at this time. Could you imagine!?

Nice. I guess you’d have to have some really smooth walls to pull it off, though.

I too fell in love with those walls and I’m not usually one for high gloss or blue. None the less, I can’t stop thinking about them.
